Anna Kurtycz
Anna Kurtycz (Mexico, 1970) worked as a journalist and communication expert and studied engraving and art in Paris. She specializes in non-toxic engraving and woodcut.
Her work has been exhibited in France, the NetherlandsGhana and United States. Since 2008 she lives in Ghana, where she directs her own Espace de Création “Studio Kurtycz”. She is part of in the Contemporary Artists Catalogue of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.
Anna is interested in memory - how it is constructed and how the stimulation of memories can promote critical thinking. Her iconography emerges from the assemblage of major historical events and small and seemingly irrelevant details: a concentration of images that portray particular souvenirs, situations and moods. Her work is both a broad chronicle of our time and an intimate interpretation of its importance. AGENDA CULTURAL. CíRCULO D.M.
